Over the next few months this site and my blog will be geared towards “The Vulture” full ring no-limit hold’em system. I will be talking “Vulture”…..coaching it and explaining how it works. Anyone who wishes to join up with me can do so by contacting me at Carl@Pokerquest.f9.co.uk in the first instance. In actual fact the Vulture is a full ring no limit hold’em philosophy. It is the philosophy that I used to take my bankroll from $100 to $5000 in my recent $100-$10k challenge and it is also the system that I used with success on Cake Poker back in 2008-2009 where I was making $25/hr over a 75,000 hand sample size at NL50.
Why does this system exist? Well in part I believe it not only looks at no limit hold’em in a way that few books do but it also addresses the issues of variance, strategic thinking and preying on weaker players rather than taking on better players. After my bad 2008 I decided that enough was enough. There simply isn’t enough mileage these days in playing higher levels and high stakes poker and even middle limits is very tough.
I am simply too busy doing other things to be mixing or even thinking about mixing in those circles. So these days I know that you have to treat these players with more respect than I did back in 2006-2007 when I had my arse handed to me. But if there is one thing that “The Dean” does well and it is to adapt to changing conditions and now I am back stronger than ever when other technically better players are now falling by the wayside. I don’t see the point in playing higher, I am playing smarter and playing more volume.
I started using PokerTracker last year in a proper way and that has been absolutely massive in the design of The Vulture. In fact I cannot thank the people at PokerTracker highly enough who helped me personally when I had problems with the software. So look out for “The Vulture” coming soon and the lower stakes no limit players had better watch out because the meat may just be getting picked from your bones.
