An absence of poker software

Played my first HUNLHE session for a while last night and won $370 after only fifteen minutes. I may play more of these sessions but the problem is that people get wise to my tactics so your life span per site is limited as the regular HU guys get to know you and then start calling you down very thinly.

But anyway, on to todays question of the day…..actually this isnt a question from anyone who I can remember but I just know that I have been asked it in the past.

Q……IS IT BETTER PLAYING LIVE OR ONLINE?

Well this is a difficult question to answer because it all depends on where your knowledge base is. Your average online game is tougher than your average live game at the same level and has been for some time. But many strong live game players are hopeless at online play whereas a strong online player probably wouldnt be hopeless in a live game setting.

Actually the word “hopeless” is a bit strong but you get my drift….perhaps we will call them unsuccessful online players instead. But I have often thought that many good live game players could do far better in online poker if they tried to create an environment in which it had as many live game characteristics as possible.

What do I mean? Well firstly if you are not winning online then under no circumstances should you multi-table.You need to focus on one single table just like you would live. Also if you are not using tracking software or software of any discription then you are at a serious handicap. This means that you either have to side step it by playing on a site like Cake Poker or you need to switch sites frequently so the hordes of tracking software users dont compile tons of data on you and slowly pick you to pieces.

If you do these things and you have a decent game then get yourself a good rakeback deal like the 33% on offer at Cake and you should do fine in online poker.

No action in the 25-50 to report and probably wont be until the middle of next week as my partner is away on business. Which just leaves my prep for the bankroll challenge plus any heads up action that I can squeeze in.

Enjoy your weekend and see ya soon
