I get asked this an awful lot and I think that the reason behind why I get asked this is probably because many people want me to soothe all their fears and apprehensions by saying that everything is all right and that they need not bother
Well in some cases you dont need tracking software and in others you almost certainly do. But then again there isnt just tracking software to think of, you also have to remember how useful all of the myriad other pieces of software are as well.
It is well documented how I use and have used Poker Office in the past and this is by far my favourite sniffer. But this sort of depends on how you want to play poker and what you level of seriousness is. If you are playing in low-stakes full-ring then the chances are that you may not need them.
But this depends on you having a very good technical game. My game was exceptional at the NL50 and NL100 levels when compared to the opposition. So this enabled me to achieve my earn rate by playing well and doing nothing more.
But as you move up then playing “well” is not enough as too many players play well and even play better. This means that your edge must come in other ways and one of those ways is in utilising software. Online poker and the success that you achieve in online poker will come from the accumulation of information.
So you need to ask yourself, how do I want to play poker and how high do I want to play. Once you can ascertain that then you can better answer the question of whether or not you need software. If you are a break even player who can mass table 24 tables then you will earn good money doing that even though you are not playing great poker, this is especially the case at the lower limits.
