Beating blackjack

I will be looking to expand my blog from October onwards and will be placing circa 20 entries a month to keep the content current. All the rumpus on the forums has brought more and more traffic to Pokersharkpool and seeing as my blog is the main page then I had better make sure that it is upto date.

I am also going to write about other things above and beyond poker as poker can get a little dull at times. I have been busy promoting my rakeback site of late and have also been busy renovating a new house in north Yorkshire that I will be spending more and more time in.

Although I cannot move in for a while yet as there are too many things tying me down elsewhere. But www.thedeanrakeback.com is now well and truly up and running and at least that is one thing that is behind me.

I have also started visiting casinos again and this has led me to talk about blackjack because it is after all, my favourite topic. I want to talk about how automatic shufflers can be beaten…….WHAT…..I can hear you cry…..HOW CAN THIS BE??

I should have rephrased that…..beating blackjack games with auto shufflers and not beating the shufflers themselves……there is a difference.

The big weakness with them is the human element because after nearly ten years in the gaming industry as a croupier, I know the mindset of a dealer, I know when they are strong technically and when they are weak and how to exploit that……it isnt rocket science…..it just takes knowledge.

Consider this….lets say that you are betting between £5 and £15 per hand with an average bet of £10. This dealer is dealing 60 hands per hour so you are placing circa £600/hour in action. The house edge of roughly 0.50% (assuming accurate basic) means that your hourly rate is -£3.00/hour.

But yet your average bet is more than THREE TIMES what your negative hourly rate is, without going into details…..can you see where I am coming from here. I know when a dealer has switched off, I know when they are on auto pilot, I know when they are bored, I know when they are prone to mistakes and I know what weaknesses lay behind their dealing techniques and this is more so with some over others.

This leads the entire game to be weak and not the shuffler, now obviously count and tracking information are useless but the great thing about this is that the casino industry view these games as unbeatable and yet put their least experienced dealers on them simply because trainee dealers cannot properly handle roulette games in the early stages of their career.

Look out for more info on this at a later date……
