Bot Buster

Well after a series of short sessions playing the various bots on Poker Academy both at NLH and Limit, apart from Sparbot that I played heads up at limit hold’em, I easily defeated all the NLH bots in heads up scenarios. I didn’t rate their play at all although I did lose a few times when I was messing about. But on all the occassions when I was really focused, I stacked them.

But Sparbot in a heads up encounter was a different story although I seemed clearly superior to that as well after about 700 hands of play. But despite this I still like the Poker Academy software and will be purchasing it when my free six hour trial runs out. You have to purchase the software to get access to Polaris which I am very keen to play heads up at limit hold’em.

I want to know more about the bots because they are becoming more and more prevalent in online play. I need to do some more research because these things may just be my future opponents if they are not already. Polaris did amazingly well against two very strong opponents and especially Eslami who is a noted limit specialist and one of the top players in his field.
