A change of scenery
Well I did not play any poker at all last month. This is the first time that this has happened since 2002…..an entire month without poker. Oh….nearly forgot….last year with the floods and my internet connection was down for several weeks but I was still getting online even then.
To be honest I havent missed it and I find that amazing. I have been doing a combination of coaching, writing, promoting and trading on the exchanges. A passion that I may have mentioned before. I go through these urges to do something different every few years. It all started with blackjack and then poker, it is hard for me to believe that I will always be doing what I am doing now.
Life just gets too dull when you are doing the same thing all the time. Even my matches with POLARIS are starting to get a little dull and I have only played 360 hands in total. The problem is that I think I am superior to the machine when my mind is on the job. I cannot remember the exact stats but I am over $1000 ahead playing 10-20. Its not the amount, it just has weaknesses in its style that I can exploit when I am concentrating fully (which isnt often these days).
I often go through moments like these when poker starts to bore me, it happened last year. If I had not OD’d on the thing then things might not have been so bad. But I tell you what, I certainly have not missed watching those cards being dealt around that tiny screen and hearing those annoying audio prompts. A couple of my students have been doing really well lately which is very good to see and very pleasing.
I will get you the exact figures of my challenge match vs POLARIS for the next time….catch you later.
