I intended to play another session last night in my challenge preparations but felt too tired after the England match and couldnt be bothered. I played a 90 minute session this morning and won $24. Also my rakeback from last month was added which was another $117. Added to the $109 that I won yesterday then I am $250 ahead so far this month.
I played 8-tables again this morning, 5 @ NL50 and 3@ NL20. Funnily enough I dont seem to be winning much in the NL20′s but the sample size is too small to draw any conclusions. Played around 850 hands yesterday and a total of 3 hrs 32 mins so far this month.
The rakeback payment next month should be a much bigger chunk and I reckon should be in the region of about $250 which makes a great start to the month. Also I am not optimising my earn rate yet on several fronts. Firstly I am playing NL20′s which is going to reduce my earn rate somewhat. I reckon that I would earn more if I was playing exclusively NL50.
I think that I could hit $500 a month in rake and a full-time player could hit $1000. This makes the system almost there before we even start. Remember that I am not trying to make $2k-$3k in a month but to PROVE that it can be done by simply playing more hours. Secondly I am still not totally happy woth my play in and around the blinds and in several other situations so I will be working on those this month.
Actually I am glad that I am having this one month intensive test first as I am sure that I will be better for having another month behind me. But you also have to remember that because Cake Poker do not allow tracking software that this makes playing poker for a living far more accessable on that site for the non serious masses than perhaps it would be elsewhere.
There will be a different dynamic in NL100 and while I could beat this level single tabling with ease, multi-tabling presents its own set of unique problems. I dont want to have to play two different styles at the same time and is why I am not playing NL50 and NL100 together. Plus its like I said previously, I am supposed to be showing people how to play serious poker from very little starting capital but as you hit NL100 then the requirements in terms of bankroll increase.
Its possible that the NL20′s are getting in my way but this is something that I will look at as the month progresses. But I am definitely playing a far more effective style than I was last week and I can actually feel the difference.
Anyway……take care and see you soon.
