Had a good day yesterday. Managed to get a really good price on CSKA Moscow to beat Aston Villa in the last 32 of the UEFA. The Russians are a very strong side having won this competition in 2005. There has been a big resurgence in Russian club football lately and every Russian side progressed through to the last 16 last night.
I picked up over £800 last night backing CSKA, the Luzhniki stadium has an artificial pitch and this was always bound to help them. But the Villa manager left 8 first team players at home. They are 4th in the league and going for Champions League and guaranteed European football next season anyway. It just all added up to one thing and that was a sub par Villa performance and a nice 2-0 win for the Russians did me nicely.
Please dont berate me for not divulging the data, it isnt easy telling others what to do with their money and I stopped giving tips a long time ago. Also chances are that you wouldnt have obtained the same price as me anyway. I thought CSKA should have been around 1/2 last night or about 1.3-1.4 on the exchanges and it was 1.75 early morning.
Had two winning sessions playing heads up last night and won $317 and $299 so all in all a pretty good day all round. Next month is sure shaping up to be one busy month if I am going to find 100 hours for the limit preparations…..still it beats being bored.
Had another lucky escape last night, I backed the under 2.5 goals in the Hull versus Sheff Utd cup tie. All going well for 30 minutes when the SU defender heads into his own goal trying to clear a cross. Then five minues later they equalise which leaves me hanging. I manage to trade out for a slight loss just three minutes before Hull score again so I avoid a wipe out.
No play to report in the 25-50 game but after last night…..who cares.
