Failed to write my blog yesterday so will attempt to make up for it by writing two today. I have felt somewhat lethargic and sluggish over the past few days. I have not been feeling well and on top of that have had a tummy bug which has meant that I have lost a lot of fluid.
Just didnt feel in the mood for playing poker of any kind which is just as well as there have been no worthwhile games in the 25-50 to speak of. Actually my associate is going away for a week soon so I will either have to do my own donkey work or abstain from the 25-50 game for a full week or so.
I havent played a session since I lost my third backer and in fact I havent even played any NL50 games either. I am steeling myself up for next month…….remember the 1st April as my official start date for the test month for the challenge.
I am sorry for those who have sent e-mails but I will get back to everyone when I am in a little better frame of mind and have a tad more energy. Over the past few days, I have been watching some old movies and being something of a military historian at heart, I decided to avail myself of two classic war movies that I have never seen…..namely “All Quiet On The Western Front” (original 1930 version) and “Das Boot” with Jurgen Prochnow.
Both classic films and there is something to be said for not playing poker…..might try this more often. I am really looking forward to next month as I need something to revitalise me and the challenge should do that.
I really think that I need to be putting more poker hours in, I dont want another year like last year which was caused partly by me not playing enough and partly not game selecting well enough. I am still looking at ghosting the 10-20 games but the player pools expand too much and this leaves us with too many players to watch and I dont think that the difference in NL2000 is all that much different to NL5000 to be honest in many games.
Although the main difference is that at 25-50, you can get the very best in the world playing at those levels simply because they dont have the stomach to play higher at levels like 200-400 and 300-600. But at 10-20 you can get players moving up from NL600 and NL1000 taking shots.
I guess that I am feeling a little impatient to be doing more which actually leads me into thinking that I havent been out for a week and thats too long…….see ya soon and take care
