There are clear problems with playing and winning considerable money online these days, the main problem is that the UIGEA has hit the industry hard with regards preventing new US fish from getting their money online. This has left a tougher pool of players in which to extract money from.
I spend most of my time waiting for a phone call these days before I can play the 25-50. We have a good set up in place but the quality is just too god damned high. Last year I would have said sod it and played anyway but I sure as hell dont want to replicate another 100k downswing in a hurry and a year where I only ended up winning a few measly thousand bucks.
But there are players who are beating 2-4 and 3-6 six max NLHE for between 100k-150k. Alex B on the Hendon Mob forum is one such player. Trouble is that I dont have his game at those levels and I dont have the desire or the drive to put the time in to do what he has done.
Winning meaningful money online is getting to be a drag and I am seriously tempted to divert back to limit holdem and multi-table the god damned things. What I hate about the NLHE games are the increasing numbers of good players and short stackers. I know this goes contrary to what I have said in the past but they do lower the amount of table money thats for sure.
I need to be filling my time in by doing something other than the 25-50 which on average I am playing about 10 hours a week at. At this rate I will not be anywhere near my 250k target and I simply havent got the game to multi-table these……I aint Dwan or Galfond you know!!!
So I will be looking to expand my HU NLHE action and I was even thinking of playing heads up SNG’s but I need to do a bit of research first. I am still preparing for my bankroll challenge and I am playing nothing but six max limit now on Cake Poker in preparation for that and it appears to be going well. I have an underlying problem though……I am steeped in the theory of Sklansky and Ciaffone and this is holding me back…..not that the theory is wrong, it just isnt pertinent to my situation and I am having to re-invent the wheel which is taking a little time.
