Well Sunday night was the big 250k guaranteed on Cake Poker and the total prize money came in at over 300k and over 1000 players. So I logged on at 9.55pm expecting the usual 10pm start and was shocked to see me seated immediately at the table.
Yes you guessed it, the tournament had started at 9pm GMT. My 10k starting stack had been eroded by nearly T1000 and the blinds were at 150-300. So I am down to 30BB immediately. The clocks in the UK go back on Saturday night by one hour so this may have been the reason. Anyway I do another couple of thousand in very quickly on trying to get someone to lay down and suddenly I am down to 6500.
I am nowhere near right mentally now and then I go through a patch where I cannot make a move and have nothing. My stack is down to 4500 and the blinds are 200-400 and someone limps in for 400 and I am in the small blind. I have the Ks-9s and I decide that this is a good time to shove and pick up the T1000 that I desperately need.
The limper has AA which is something that I may have noticed had I been at the table longer or been right mentally and I am gone. So hopefully will see some better luck next Sunday.
Looks like I will be playing the main event at the DTD in December which is the Anniversary Cup, this is a £1000 + £60 event with the WSOP main event structure and 120 minute levels. The prize money is expected to be in the region of about £250,000. This is something that I am really looking to and numerous people from the Hendon Mob forum having been taking percentages.
Hopefully this will be the prelude to me playing half a dozen events next year.
