Its almost that time of year again and by that I mean WSOP time. Thousands of players will be making the annual trip to good old LV but not yours truly. Too many projects and not enough time to squeeze them all in.
As for the cash games then I can make just as much money online as I could going to LV. Compared to the really big boys, I dont actually make that much online. Like I said yesterday, 100k will do me very nicely but the ability to make 100k isnt always as easy as making it.
A combination of indiscipline and lacking the time/energy to put the necessary hours in is my usual downfall. In an ideal world, if I could play 40 actual playing hours a week then 250k is well within my reach. That isnt a big deal and is only £125 per hour. I am making £15 per hour messing about with the Vulture at NL50.
Actually to put that into perspective, this means that I could make at least 30k a year just from using this System but the reality is that in an ideal world I would make about 50% more than that and 45k would be nearer the mark.
But the latest hit and run sessions have highlighted where my future is and it may not be with six max. I still have an idea to mass table 2-4 and 3-6 six max limit hold’em in return for a huge rakeback payment at the month end but for how long I could stomach playing this much limit holdem is another story.
This is the underlying problem because your earnings are curtailed massively by the sheer monotony of the bloody thing. Everything looks good in hindsight but I know how quickly that I get bored these days. This is why HU and The Vulture have re-ignited my passion for the game again and I dont want to take five and six figure downswings anymore……poker is one sick game or at least it can be.
