The Dean is now taking enquiries from all interested parties regarding my new Poker Pro System “The Vulture” and also my forthcoming six max system “The Jackal”, anyone who is interested in these should contact me at Carl@Pokerquest.f9.co.uk to register their interest.
I couldnt help myself yesterday and played another session with The Vulture and ended up losing $5. I started badly and made a silly bluffing attempt where I was basically gambling that my opponent didnt have a hand…..they did and I was over $20 down within minutes.
This is the kind of thing that I am talking about…..the low stakes are affecting my mindset and I am deliberately looking for action. But during that session something clicked into place or at least I hope it did…..I dont think that I have ever really properly come to terms with multi-tabling. I can “play” numerous tables and have a personal best of 11 and could have handled more than that.
But I am rushing my decisions because of the audio prompts, this is OK when your decisions are straight forward but it is obviously causing me problems at critical stages. So I purposefully slowed my decision making down. It must have been getting on the other players nerves actually but what the hell, I am trying to make something work.
I watched a video a while back about a guy who was mass tabling 40 tables and he didnt care about timing out and treated it as all part and parcel of the process. I need to start doing this and slowing the process down, I need to control the tempo rather than letting the tempo control me. At times I am being swept along by the sheer momentum of it all as I have little experience playing multiple tables.
But it is a bit like the time that I was advised to slow my golf swing down to improve my timing and it shaved literally numerous shots from my handicap……its only now that I think back and can make the connection with golf.
It isnt The Vulture thats the problem, its the operation of it properly and this is going to be the biggest test. There will be many people out there who may purchase this thinking that it will automatically make them money. But yet a persons own individual traits may render the results much worse than anticipated just like it has done for me.
I am still making money this month and have still won in 80% of my sessions but it has been slipping and I have been the reason for it. But I finally think that I have the answer, it is actually dawned on me that the main thing is to occupy a seat at a table rather than act in time on every single hand. If I miss some value in one hand then so be it but at least I shouldnt lose value in escalated pots.
See you soon and take care
