Played a short session in the Pro Poker Challenge yesterday and won $10 in 48 minutes. I didnt intend on playing as short as that but things went badly. Over the past two sessions I have won $12 and probably spewed about $50-$60 with bad play.
Something felt wrong and I needed to get away and reflect on what it was. I think that I am actually starting to inadvertantly steer away from my very own system at times. Things are going so well and I have still only had one losing session this month that I am beginning to get cocky and careless. This sometimes happens when players get successful but it doesnt just apply to poker it can apply to anything.
Coming on here and telling people what I am doing wrong is a positive step towards correcting it. The past two sessions has seen me suffering from FPS…….FANCY PLAY SYNDROME!! I am starting to underestimate the players at NL50 again like I was a few weeks ago all because I am winning easily.
Luckily for the people who purchase this system, my own inner personality flaws will not be present in those modules. But it is still worth noting so that you can correct this if and when it happens to you. Although I have a problem in that I am used to playing for much more money than this. But I played back yesterady at a couple of players when the situation didnt warrant it and it went contrary to what my low variance system is about.
The last two sessions has seen my swings escalate away from what they have been and its all my fault for not following my own methods. What this means is that I was right to take the extra month to finalise this thing and it will also mean that my rakeback payment next month will not be terribly high either as I will probably spend more time this month working on this than actually playing.
But this is good news as well because despite things going slightly pear shaped…..the system is STILL winning and STILL ploughing on almost like nothing can stop it at this NL50 level.
