Well the $1000 dollar a month experiment starts tomorrow. I have been making a few adjustments this week to it but I had a really bad session the other day dropping five buy-ins in the space of an hour. For readers who dont know what I am about to do, I am going to try a minimum stacking approach in the 50NL games.
Coupled with rakeback, I want to hopefully show how a player with hardly any money can make over $1000 a month playing poker. I DONT expect to make $1000 in October even if I do succeed. This is simply because I will be away from my main computer and playing on my laptop which basically only gives me the capacity to play four tables.
Also due to other committments, I will only be able to play something like 40 hours of poker during the entire month. But it is the strategy and the system that I want to prove and it would be great to make it work. If I can say achieve an earn rate of $8 per hour, then this would mean that a player who was playing double the number of tables and playing more hours and getting more rakeback could easily get $1000 a month and even as high as $2000 a month.
All this from a starting bankroll that woudlnt have to be no higher than $500. In fact with the sign up bonuses that are on offer then you could easily start you life as a semi professional poker player with basically nothing. Cake Poker have a 100% sign up bonus which means that you could deposit $250 and get it doubled. Which means that anyone with a spare £140 could have a crack at this.
Even then, supposing you didnt have that kind of money……you could buy in for less money and if you got off to a decent start, you may never need the rest of your bankroll……fifty quid could suffice. But at this stage its all ifs and coulds and maybe’s.
Luckily for me, I will be playing a disciplined system which will hopefully eradicate any indiscipline on my behalf. But if it works then I will be compiling an e-book probably around Christmas time that could totally transform the online poker environment.
I will be giving updates on my blog after every session for anyone who is interested in seeing how I get on with this. But to make something work that would benefit millions of small stakes poker players would be my greatest ever achievement I would say because to generate $1000-$2000 a month with basically nothing takes some doing. What are my chances……hard to say……but they may be as good as 50/50.
