Something occured to me yesterday about this bankroll challenge thing that I am planning. Not being the most technologically minded person in the world when it comes to computers, I am struggling with multi-tabling. I have a personal record of 11 tables at FR NLHE but thats nothing compared to some although it is more than most.
The problem is that at NLHE my game starts to crumble when I play that many games after a while. Plus with a game like NLHE then bet sizing is crucial. So I either need to learn how to use AHK’s or possibly switch to playing limit.
Another problem…..I havent played limit of any kind in a while and certainly low-stakes limit. But using limit hold’em as the vehicle to launch the challenge may be my best option. It is certainly the game that I play the best and I have played this game full-time once upon a time. I have also played upto the $150-$300 level as well and as low as $1-$2 so I do have a wide experience of this form of poker.
But the main advantage for me personally is that I wont have to worry about bet sizing as it is a structured game. This means that I cant get under time pressure with this part of the game. I was playing $3-$6 limit on Cake Poker yesterday as a trial and despite me playing like a total donk in some situations I did ok and won about $40.
Another problem……dont know if doing this will be any good for my 25-50 game and I have a strong duty to these people to give them my very best. But on the other hand I also have a strong duty to promote Cake Poker as well to the best of my potential and I really want to make this work for them too. The real advantage with limit hold’em is that I know the profit potential of the hands in nearly all situations and have just built a feel for it.
But despite this, playing too many tables at limit will impact on that but I am hoping to be a break even player multi-tabling and then get my profit from the 33% rakeback payments at the end of the month. Hopefully I should make a few bucks in the actual games as well as 2-4 and 3-6 limit have lots of recreational players unlike NLH.
Once you get above NL50 then you are against much better players in NLHE but I have been single tabling NL100 this week and recorded 4/5 winning sessions. The main point was that nearly every single player on the table had a weak game of some discription…either too tight or too loose but few players were achieving the proper balance.
But another advantage to doing a bankroll challenge on Cake Poker is that they dont allow tracking software. This means that I cant be picked to peices as and when I decide to move up. What I am trying to achieve here really is to make sure or try and make sure that I am going to be successful before I even start.
Take care and see ya soon
