I had to think of a name for my new mentorship scheme and "Project Pokerquest" fitted the bill just nicely. This is because this is exactly what it is…..a quest!
A quest to take half a dozen keen and eager novices and turn them into poker playing machines. Ideally people who are already versed in my philosophies and methods but the back up and guidence that I will be giving them every step of the way and not to mention a starting bankroll. I am really excited by this project although like all good things, you have to wait for them. I am already commited to writing my new book on cash games which has a 31st May deadline so that cannot wait and I also have this bankroll challenge thing which I hope to be starting soon on Poker Heaven.
The e-book has done well on the forums especially the Hendon Mob and PTP. I think that everyone has the right to read free material that can not only earn them a very considerable amount of money but can also dramatically alter how they think about poker.
Suddenly straight out of the blue, I have developed a new lease of life again with regards poker. The funny thing is that the stuff that is actually exciting me doesn’t even involve playing big games. Some may say that $25-$50 No Limit is not that big of a game even though there is always at least $20k on the table. Some others would say that it is absolutely stratospheric. Well that is what I consider big and thats all that matters. But it doesn’t motivate me anymore and the problem is that moving up higher than that and then I really am locking horns with the very best in the world and whatever that involves that make them that good.
I dont have the bankroll for 200-400 and 300-600 NLH anyway but the players who are there are not who I want to be playing against. There are only so many hours in a day and just so much to do, I still have a backer lined up who wants to put a sizeable amount of money behind me to play highstakes poker online but I have just been too busy but I need to do some prep work to do that anyway.
But Project Pokerquest coupled with my bankroll challenge will put a very interesting slant indeed on the second half of the year.
cheers and see you soon
