After six full weeks out of the loop because of heavy flooding in my area knocking out the phonelines, I played my first online session this week in that time. Although I am still not fully functional again as I am still having to get my e-mails from friends computers which is a real pain.
But in the great scheme of things, I was lucky as many people near to me literally lost everything and some were not insured so poker was certainly put into perspective during the month of July and world series time as well.
Congrats to Jerry Yang for winning the big one and Hendon Mobster Ram Vaswani winning a bracelet in the limit hold’em event towards the end.
I played 4 tables of 10-20 limit hold’em the other evening but not on my computer as my main line is still out of action after all this time. A nice 70BB session ($1400) winning session helped to blow away the cobwebs of not playing for a while. Not my usual game but too many distractions at my friends house to play in my usual 25-50 NL six handed game. Limit is more automatic and I can play a very strong game with my eyes shut so no worries on that score.
