Its a question of personality

My e-mail address seems to be very common knowledge these days so thats probably why I get so many e-mails. Actually I am not complaining but I would just like to make everyone aware that I simply havent got the time to reply to them all.

But I had an idea a few days ago on how I could spice up my blog and that was to answer peoples questions through my blog. First though, still no poker to report except that my results in the NL50′s have been treading water recently and I think I know why that is and I am almost ashamed to say it…….I have been treating the players with a complete and utter lack of respect.

A bit of research has shown that these players are not as weak as I first imagined and are far more serious than I thought. Which means that my original thoughts of just turning up and winning were a bit wide of the mark. I have been playing 8 tables and as many as 11 and to be honest this seems to have been showing a total lack of respect.

We all know that when you get below certain levels that the competition becomes pretty weak but I had always imagined that to be several levels higher than what it actually was. So onto my first question,

Q   Why were you losing money last year???

Well, I dont avoid awkward questions just because I dont like them, as long as they are clean and proper then I will answer them. It was a combination of things really, not using tracking software properly and not playing like I should have been playing.

Actually I have to stress that I did in fact only lose 20 buy-ins during that spell so it wasnt that disasterous. But I reckon that my Sklansky Dollars wasnt good. The online games that I played got a whole lot tougher and I didnt adapt in time. But using Poker Office has been fantastic for me and although it isnt me who is analysing the data, it has still totally transformed my game.

Now I am doing what all good players should be doing and that is only playing when I have an edge. I also should have site hopped like I used to but I stopped doing it through idleness and the pro’s picked me off. I had prided myself on a style of play that tracking software would find hard to pick up. I site hopped constantly so I always kept one step ahead rather than stay and allow players to know me and then fight for whatever value was left.

So there you have it, in a nutshell why I failed last year….because I deserved to.

See ya soon and mind the snow and ice.

CAKE POKER……THE SITE THAT PAYS ONE OF THE BEST RAKE DEALS ON THE INTERNET.
