Its probably snowing where you are (if you are in the UK like me) which means that you have more than likely had the day off work. Been twiddling my thumbs today and I am bored silly. This is what you get when you get a daily blog from me. So I had better think up something good to talk about.
I am still pretty pleased with how January went and to be honest, there is no way that I could have made it without my partner. My normal style which I would describe as tight/very aggressive wasnt faring too well last year. My problem was that I think that online poker caught up with me and I never saw it coming.
I underestimated the power of HUD’s and tracking software and paid the price. But like the six million dollar man I feel rebuilt. The only problem is that my partner doesnt have the time to analyse the much greater number of 10-20 players and especially 5-10. I really do feel that I should be filling in time playing these.
But having said that I have other committments too, I have a large amount of writing work and work that is associated with my sponsor Cake Poker. Plus I am playing at least 40 hours a month on that site so it all adds up. So to be fair, I dont have that much time in which to spare and was a major reason behind why I had to stop coaching people.
I hope that you like the new layout of the site, it should make it better in future. I am still about $1000 ahead in my preparations for the NL50 challenge. Although $1000 is not bad over two months, this is stretched over 100 hours and indiscipline has cost me dear. But I think that I am perhaps only a few weeks away from perfecting my system of multi-tabling these things.
After that I may undertake my very own $10-$100,000 challenge just like Negreanu……I always seem to fail at these but one of these days I am gonna wake up with a large dose of discipline and crack this.
