I started the $1000 per month short stacking challenge for real last night and after a bad start I eventually had a winning session. In fact because last month, I was basically preparing for it then my rakeback went in yesterday and this figure accurately fits what I should be getting in the future.
The bottom line is that I ended up winning $11.25 and I also got a total of $78.54 go into my account from last month from rakeback as well. This makes me ahead for the month a total of $89.79!!!!
Now I dont need to make $1000 a month to make this system work. This is because I am working away from my main computer so I am playing these games on my laptop. This means that I cannot feasably play more than four tables and playing more than 40 hours a month is out of the question for me at thus moment in time.
But if I can get say $400-$500 dollars a month doing this thing then someone who was putting in say 100 hours a month would be looking at a figure of $1000-$1500. Then if we take into account the small number of tables, the tightness of the system means that even a multi-tabling dunce like me finds four tabling a doddle doing this and eight tables wouldnt really be a problem.
So this could turn that figure into something like $2000-$3000 a month for more dedicated players and that is pretty bloody astounding when you consider that you could start this with as little as $150.
I thought that last months bad luck was going to continue last night as I got one buy in ahead and then dropped three buy ins behind before finally ending up one buy in ahead again. I had a guy all in with A-6 on a 7-7-6 flop against my pocket kings, he hits the ace. I have pocket Queens versus Jacks, they flop a jack. I get to see a free flop with 10-2 in the big blind and the flop comes 2-2-5 and someone has A-2.
I get aces four times and get no action, but all in all I dont need to press this although I told myself last night that I need to attack the blinds more in these games even though I have a chronically short stack. It is still a system in progress and I expect to be doing this all this month unless I dip out.
Anyway I intend to play tonight, I played an hour and a half last night. I wont keep you posted on the number of hours but I will tell at the end of the month but it is going to be about forty near as damn it.
